Cindy Wasserman and Frank Lee Drennan, who are the Los Angeles-based vocal duo known as Dead Rock West, recently put out the album It’s Everly Time!, a 13-song tribute to the Everly Brothers. Featuring an array of standards and underrated tracks, their latest single is their cover of the 1965 song “The Price of Love”. The album every shows shows authentic appreciation to iconic Everly Brothers standards such as “Cathy’s Clown,” and lesser-known treasures like “June is as Cold as December. Their musical style crosses several musical styles including Americana, roots rock, alt-country, country, folk-rock and bluegrass … and they do it all with great success.

Dead Rock West warmed the stage for X on Saturday night at Mill City Nights. Their set was perfectly executed and melodically rich. It was interesting to see people in the bar area gravitate towards the stage once their performance started. Who could blame them. Their sound a definite appeal that truly crosses not only genres, but certainly a few generations. The icing on the cake was when X joined Dead Rock West on stage for their final song. Awesome ending to a perfect set. Check out their new album, It’s Everly Time! and catch them live.
