The Tallest Man on Earth at First Avenue 8/29/2015

Rumor has it the ceiling repair was done to accommodate Kristian Matsson better known as The Tallest Man on Earth for his return to First Avenue yesterday. Promoting his fourth album “Dark Bird Is Home” his tour is finishing up North America before heading to Europe.

Keeping with the uptempo more complex feel of his new album Matsson is now touring with a backup band. But he stays true to his roots by performing several songs in his set solo. My neck and shoulders got a workout trying to follow him around on stage. He is constantly on the move going back and forth, close to the audience and back to the drum kit. His connection to the audience was undeniable, the faces in the front row had a smile and wide open eyes. Through the set I realized just how many of his songs are getting airplay on The Current. Overall a solid set that his fans appreciated.
