“Emerging Artists of 2017,” Brett Young has captured the hearts of fans everywhere through his honest lyrics and West Coast-meets-Southern sound, aptly dubbed “Caliville” style. Brett played a capacity filled the Myth in Maplewood, Minnesota Thursday evening. Brett Young is currently touring in support of his latest self titled album.

Ross Ellis opened the show for Brett Young. Ross was born and raised in the small town of Monterey, Louisiana. Ross is currently writing songs for his debut album. Ross played a 30 minute acoustic set. He played a seven song set and covered songs by Tyler Farr and Chris Stapleton. Ross has a very good stage presence and vocals are amazing. The fans cheered and sang along with Ross. Ross Ellis will certainly do very well in the music industry in years to come.

After a short break the lights went down and the screams were unbelievable for Brett Young. The fans went crazy when Brett came out with his band. The opening song was “Close Enough” then right into hit song “Making Me“. It was really neat to hear Brett talk between songs about the inspiration of each song he wrote. His third song was his chart topping hit “Like I loved You“. The screams were continuous between songs and several times Brett just stood on stage soaking in all the love from his fans. Brett talked about the inspiration behind writing of my favorite song “Beautiful Believer“.  He played all of his chart topping hits “In Case You Didn’t Know“,”Hallelujah“,”Crazy Love” and “Mercy“. Brett played a combined thirteen song set. He closed the show with song “Country Radio“. Brett Young has already started paving his way in country music in 2017. 2018 will be a monsterous year for him. Brett Young is certainly a must see live band.
