A real treat is coming this Sunday evening at the Icehouse in Minneapolis! In celebration of a very successful six months since the release of her album Wake Me When The Wind Dies Down, Vicky Emerson is returning to the Icehouse for an evening performance. The album and her performances have been taking the local music scene by storm with audiences giving rave reviews.
Vicky’s infectious voice seemed to have influence on the element of time. Her music pulls you in and doesn’t seem to let go. Her performance are very fluid, as songs seem to flow beautifully together from one song to the next. Her band was comprised of well seasoned musical veterans, who truly delivered a class-A performance.
Jake Armerding & Matt Patrick will be kicking off the night’s performances on Sunday. These two guys are dear friends, who also happen to be seasoned musicians. Add to that their individual songwriting craftsmanship and multi-instrumental abilities, it seemed natural to combine these elements.
Jake is widely known in the bluegrass world as the fiddle player for Barnstar! and has a solo career that keeps him busy on a full-time basis. Matt is the owner, operator of the Library Recording Studio where he has produced and mixed numerous albums over the last 8 years and plays regularly with Greycoats, Vicky Emerson, Fathom Lane, and Jourdan Myers. Jake and Matt’s style is a blend of original folk and modern music, with rich harmonies, interesting cover selections and textural instrumentals.
The night’s performance can only lead to one thing, a great time engulfed in great entertainment.
