With summer into full swing, music festivals seem to have carved out a season all for themselves. The Farmington Dew Days Festival played host to The Plott Hounds on Friday night. The band brought their love for playing true Americana Rock & Roll to the crowded venue and pulled off a flawless 4 hours of music. The three sets combined an excellent mix of new tracks from their upcoming album ‘Living Free’, which will be releasing in early July, and a selection of covers. Some of the covers where one’s I’ve never heard The Plott Hounds play before, and were as impressive as their rendition of ‘Sweet Home Alabama’. It was a cool twist in keeping their set fresh. In kicking off their initial set, The Plott Hounds threw a quick curve ball having bassist Shea Marana take center stage with harmonica. The reaction from the crowd was awesome and immediately engaged as the set continued. Carla, a Farmington local who was in the crowd, commented “They are so amazing. The original songs are great and I just pre-ordered their album a minute ago”.

Even with a nice breeze running across the festival, the venue stayed smoking hot with great music, passionate set performances, and a foot-stomping good time. The Plott Hounds nailed it and the folks in Farmington were there to see (and hear) it all.
