If you play your cards right, you could see Local favorites The Hold Steady 3 times in 2 days. They will make a pair of 7th Street Entry appearances on November 14. The early show is All Ages. The late show is 21+. Details can be found HERE.
On Saturday 11/13 you can catch them in the Main Room supported by Gully Boys and Kiss The Tiger. Tickets are HERE
Although the band now operates out of Brooklyn, this is a band that still calls Minnesota home. We call The Hold Steady “one of us” as much as we do Prince, Bob Dylan and Bob Mould. Every time they come to town they either sell out The Mainroom or headline a major outdoor event.
The band released their 8th studio effort, Open Door Policy earlier this year. It features a return of the band’s rock sensibilities, coupled with some of the introspection of Craig Finn’s side project trilogy with The Uptown Controllers. Expect plenty from that gem along with a pile of sweat and hits.
You can count on one hand the number of times in a year that a major band comes to town and deliberately plays the smallest venue they can. The Hold Steady in The Entry definitely fits that definition. The amount of energy that will fill that room promises to be off the charts.
If you’ve got your ticket, you know what to expect. If you don’t, get ready for a 225 person mosh pit.
