Looking for that perfect show to kick your 2024 off with? I suggest catching Wrestlepalooza on both Saturday, January 13th and Sunday, January 14th at First Avenue.
If you’ve experienced a Wrestlepalooza before, you don’t need the background and surely already have your tickets for these back-to-back nights. If you’ve never witnessed the magic that is Wrestlepalooza, you are in for a treat and need to snag your tickets before they sell out (as they always do).
Wrestlepalooza is put on by F1RST Wrestling which is an amazing local group. As they put it, “We here at F1RST WRESTLING intend to bring Pro Wrestling to a new level in Minnesota. We won’t make outlandish claims or silly promises about changing Pro Wrestling as you see it. What we will promise, is to give you the fans of MN wrestling the best possible show we can each and every night!” And they aren’t kidding about that promise. I have yet to miss a Wrestlepalooza. It never gets old and leaves me feeling energized while also leaving my face sore from smiling and laughing so much.
Although the musical act for Sunday has not been announced yet, Dillinger Four will be there on Saturday night as the icing on the cake for an amazing night. Dillinger Four are from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They formed in 1994. In terms of importance, they are to the ‘90s and ’00s what Black Flag was to the ’80s (without the Grateful Dead worship). It’s not only what they are, a great band, it’s what they’ve helped inspire, build, and represent. They’re an earthquake. They’re the Redd Foxx- mixed with the Chalmers Johnson of punk rock.
