The Griswolds and Dreamers will play the Triple Rock on 3/12

This weekend will bring a flurry of shows to the Twin Cities with the opening of the Palace Theatre, two Hippo Campus shows at First Avenue. But in all the hype don’t miss out on two very cool bands playing the Triple Rock Sunday night: The Griswolds and Dreamers. Tickets are still available HERE

Opener Dreamer is a blast to see live The LA three piece have been getting a ton of heat for their new tune, “Sweet Disaster” which is all grunge infused pop and dappled guitar riffs – it peaked at number 4 on AltNations Top 18, and has been climbing up the charts at Alternative Radio too and just hit 4 million streams on Spotify! The tune came from their debut record, “This Album Does Not Exist,” which saw them chart at Number 16 on the iTunes Alternative charts when it debuted. They had a crazy 2016, touring with Great Good Fine OK, The Mowglis, Night Riots and making festival appearances at Lollapalooza and the like.

Also interesting tidbit – the band have circled the country around 3 times in the last year or so. They tour so much, the band would often find themselves in a state of homelessness during downtime – at one point frontman Nick was living out of their rehearsal space.

Aussie Band The Griswolds put on a heck of a show each time we get to see them. From the opening track of The Griswolds breakthrough second album High Times For Low Lives there are bad decisions, dubious choices and — right there in “Role Models” — electro-funk keyboard stabs that punch through the heart of a beat-laden RnB jam. There are drugs, models and sparkling, innovative pop. And if you thought you knew The Griswolds, think again.

High Times For Low Lives is the Australian four-piece’s explosive coming out party, an amalgam of electro RnB rock intersecting with the slinky indie they’re known best for from 2014’s debut Be Impressive. Thematically following the process of a relationship decline, the ups and downs of following dreams, and how these moments showcase life at its fullest, High Times for Low Lives is an immersive thematic experience, as well as a sonic evolution of The Griswolds.
