If you’ve been slacking when it comes to your New Year’s Resolution of catching more local shows like I have, make sure to stop by The Cabooze on Thursday, February 28th to make up for it!

Kiss the Tiger will be headlining the Thursday night show. Kiss the Tiger is a female-fronted, five-piece rock ‘n’ roll outfit from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Drawing on influences from Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Patti Smith, and Iggy Pop, Kiss the Tiger “does rock revivalism exceptionally well” (Michael Madden, City Pages). In February of 2017 they were the runner-up in Star Tribune’s ‘Are You Local?’ Best New Band competition. Since then they recorded their EP, “Elliot Park” and released it in November of 2017. Their music video for the song “Starting to See You” off of the EP was named one of Minnesota’s best music videos of 2018 by The Current. ‘Let Me Bleed’ marks Kiss the Tiger’s second full-length release.

Joining Kiss The Tiger will Be Black Velvet Punks. Black Velvet Punks is a hip-hop, jazz punk, and neo-soul band fronted by black genderqueer guitarist, Taylor Seaberg. Often soulful and punk driven, the group carries a vibrant energy. Under their former name of “People Will Dance,” Seaberg’s in-studio performance of their song “Vibes” was featured in City Pages’ Local Frames and the Local Current blog’s Friday Five music video roundups. Seaberg has also performed at an MPR sponsored album release show for Chastity Brown’s “Silhouette of Sirens” at The Fitzgerald Theater, a Greenroom Magazine sponsored show for Oshun, as well as Minneapolis Institute of Art’s Third Thursday Art + Lit events.

The Bloodies and Garden Work will be kicking the night off in style.

Tickets will be available at the door.
