Minnesota pop-punk and garage rock fans rejoice, we have a stacked lineup of talented artists coming to shake up Mortimers bar February 28th. The lineup will feature Absolutely Not, Tightwire, Murf and Pierre. Most of these bands are Twin Cities locals, aside from Absolutely Not who proudly hail from the big city of Chi-town. Tickets for this show will be available at the door for $7.
Pierre is a local band that has been tearing up the underground and basement scene in the Twin Cities for awhile now. They recently played a few support slots with Remo Drive. Murf is a hardcore/punk band that will surely bring a heavy punch to the bill. Come ready to mosh with these guys.
Absolutely Not will be playing as well. Absolutely Not are a garage rock punk band from Chicago. They sound like a blend between Mindless Self Indulgence and White Reaper creating a perfect, chaotic sound. Check out their song “Bottom of the Pit”. Since these guys are making the trip up north, bring a friend, have a beer and come have a good time!
And last but certainly not least, local MPLS pop-punk group Tightwire will be bringing the evening to a close. Tightwire are a band that has been making large waves in the scene the past year or two. They recently released an album called, Six Feet Deep. Tightwire bring together sounds reminiscent of The Copyrights, Alkaline Trio, and the Menzingers. I am definitely excited to check these guys out for the first time and see what they have in store. See you at Mortimers 2/28!
