20-year-old Nashville-based musician Stephen Sanchez has been on the ride of his life over the past few years. If you’ve turned on the radio lately, you’ve probably heard “Until I Found You” or “Evangeline”. He even played with Elton John at Glastonbury this year.
When you close your eyes and hear his music you might picture Buddy Holly or Roy Orbison; maybe even a little Elvis. When you see him, you see a tattooed kid starting out with swagger to spare and a mission. His fusion of old crooner ballads and classic rockabilly is only enhanced by his air kicks and yowls. It’s truly something special to see.
Lucky for us, he’ll be at First Avenue on October 19th. When he played at Fine Line just last February, I knew he would be blowing up.
