Thundercat and Channel Tres will be visiting the St. Paul at the Palace Theatre on November 14th; Tickets are still available HERE and we hope you’ll join us, because we are in for a Funky-Good-Time.

I’ve seen a lot of unique positions in my time, but a lead-cat slapping the bass is not something I can say I’ve ever seen; Thundercat, known formally as Stephen Lee Bruner, has been bumping beats with his fingers since the early 2000’s, getting a lot of attention specifically in 2015 as he helped out on the track “These Walls” on Kendrick Lamar’s revered To Pimp a Butterfly. Outside of having neat collaborations such as that, Thundercat has released 4 studio albums, with his 2020 piece It Is What It Is gaining a Grammy for Best Progressive R&B Album.

Joining Thundercat will be Compton, California product Channel Tres (Sheldon Young). Tres is a rapper, singer, and record producer most commonly know for his well-received singles “Controller” and “Topdown,” and while we would hope to hear those hits – we’re excited to get more direct exposure to the tracks from their most recent album – I Can’t Go Outside – that dropped in 2020.

Don’t miss out on this funky, awesome show on the 14th! See you at the Palace.
