Everyone’s favorite McDonald’s themed Black Sabbath cover band Mac Sabbath will be stopping at First Avenue on Sunday, February 18th as part of their “I Got A Bad Feeling About This Tour.” Do you think I’m kidding about the McDonald’s thing? I’m most certainly not. Think about all of the McDonald’s characters (i.e. Ronald McDonald, the Hamburgler) dressed up in a more Satanic fashion with a fancy for legendary metalheads Black Sabbath and you about have what Sunday will be like. Being the self appointed founders of “Drive Thru Metal”, Mac Sabbath parodies iconic songs from Black Sabbath to be about fast food and everything that has to do with the industry. Sure, it’s off the wall and when you see singer Ronald Osbourne (since they clearly can’t use trademarked names) doing his signature move of grilling burgers on stage, it can feel a bit over the top but that over the top-ness is perfect for the already bizarre act.
As if a McDonald’s Black Sabbath cover band wasn’t quirky enough to get you out of the house on a Sunday night, let me sweeten the deal with telling you about the opener– A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…. actually fairly recently – a new heavy metal band was formed by some of the most infamous and feared villains in the galaxy. Introducing GALACTIC EMPIRE. The band performs classic pieces from the iconic soundtrack of the Star Wars films written by John Williams. Yeah, you read that right. Try and say no to this show now! I dare you to!
Tickets are still available here.
