Jonathan Davis will be taking over The Myth Nightclub in Maplewood as part of his solo tour on Wednesday, May 2nd. The Korn frontman first hinted at a solo full-length back in December, revealing on Facebook his plans for both an album and tour apart from his principal act. And back in January, Davis debuted his solo song “What It Is,” the first single from his forthcoming debut, solo album. “It took 10 years, and I’m so glad this project is finally [coming] out,” Davis says of his solo debut. “It is something that is very close to me and I’m excited for the world to finally hear it. This time, I’m pulling something out of the audience. I’ve bared my soul for so fucking long, I thought it’d be really cool to pull listeners in a different direction for once.”
Although Jonathan Davis got his fame through Korn, his distinct voice and unrelenting energy is something that I have always wanted to see put into a solo project. Being able to see that in an intimate setting such as The Myth is definitely worth your time. Although I’m excited to hear all of his new solo songs, I’m hoping that we might get a little peek at some new renditions of everyone’s old favorites from Korn.
New Jersey post-hardcore group Palisades be opening for Jonathan Davis. Their explosive live show is definitely something that should not be missed and I am more than excited to see this band getting on a tour with a legend as big as Jonathan Davis.
Starting the night off right will be local group Sleep Signals.
Tickets are still available here.
