Local band “Going to the Sun” opened Communion Tuesday at the Turf Club. Fronted by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist David Young, the project started as an experimental departure from rock power trio Down and Above, but quickly turned into a raison d’etre. Their self titled debut album was nominated as one of top local albums of 2014 by radio station The Current.
Going to the Sun delivered a professional set and got the evening off to a great start. Their next show in the Twin Cities is on June 12 at the Amsterdam.
