Goth Babe will be bringing The Lola Tour to First Avenue on Monday, July 31st!

Goth Babe is Griff Washburn enjoying himself. Originally from Tennessee, Griff currently lives and writes music on a 30ft sailboat in California. When not on the road touring or at home on the boat, Griff and his dog Sadie are off enjoying the outdoors in either Oregon or California. Snow, surf, and trails are plenty to occupy them in their off-season. Goth Babe is a one-stop-shop for feel-good vibes, indie-pop music, and an immersive show experience. Chock full of upbeat and positive energy, his show is wholesome, grounded, and a lot of fun. The inimitable act has reached insane heights with just a grassroots and word of mouth approach, and will be headlining venues like The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

Kicking the night off is Husbands. Husbands is a landlocked beach pop band that sidequests Krautrock, garage rock, and tropicalia. For its After the Gold Rush Party LP, released January 14, 2020, the Oklahoma City band also dabbles in no wave and nineties-inspired pop, recommended if you like anything from Fleetwood Mac to MGMT, Beach House to the Beach Boys. Lyrically, songwriters Danny Davis and Wil Norton tackle what it means to be punk while working a nine-to-five and trying to find zen in an anxious world.

Written in the most claustrophobic months of 2020, Husbands’ third full-length record, Full-On Monet, plays out like a meditation gone toxic. Densely layered. Lush pop melodies. Surf-rock harmonies. Distorted synth hooks and psychedelic flourishes. All of it coming together to create something that’s free-spirited, brainy, fun – and simultaneously jarring, synthetic, and off-kilter. “From far away, it’s OK, but up close, it’s a big ol’ mess.”
