Aimee Mann, as part of her band Til Tuesday, gave us one of the most distinctive songs of the 80s “Voices Carry” and from there moved on to 30+ years of creating music that brought her to 2017’s “Mental Illness” which was released a few weeks ago. She is currently on tour promoting that album and will play the Fitzgeral Theatre on 5/3. Tickets are still available HERE.
Supporting her will be Jonathan Coulton well known for his songs about geek culture. He left a career in tech in 2005 and has gathered a large following on the internet and the music community. You may know the experimental artist for many reasons – the quirky pop songs that spurred his bold departure from a comfortable career in the tech industry, the Thing A Week experiment in which he recorded one song per week for an entire year, his catchy contributions as one-man house band to the NPR quiz show “Ask Me Another,” or his own fan cruise “The JoCo Cruise.”
