Marah in the Mainsail will start the summer tour at the Icehouse on 7/15

There are bands that fly under the radar of mainstream media and somehow “escape” detection. In the case of Minneapolis’ Marah in the Mainsail the radar operator must be blind, deaf and probably not even have his radar turned on. Those guys are flying a B-52 Stratofortess, all the lights turned on, with a Trombone player and a slightly mad percussionist riding on top of the plane.  Yes, in case there was any doubt, I do like that band.

I saw them earlier this spring at the start of their journey to SXSW at the Icehouse for a truely memorable show.  They returning to the scene of the crime next week with a show at the Icehouse on 7/15. Tickets are available HERE

The band has been working on a new album “Bone Crown” and released a single “Black Mamba” a few weeks ago. Opening for them will be Tabah which should make for an interesting combination from 70’s inspired to cinematic rock.
