Belle & Sebastian are a 6 piece band from Glasgow, Scotland founded almost 20 years ago. Since then their indy pop has garnered critics’ praise and a devout fan base. When The Current announced them as headliners for Saturday’s Rock the Garden the cheer could be heard all the way to Wisconsin.
Their show is a production with the band being supported by the Minneapolis-based Laurels String Quartet . Front man Stuart Murdoch almost prances on stage with his quirky dance moves, but there is no question that his stage presences captures the audience. His personality showed in his interaction with the audience calling the even a “Garden Party”, telling stories of their day in Minneapolis or referring to the VIP skybox as the deathstar.
For the encore Belle & Sebastian brought members of the audience on stage to dance to “The Boy with the Arab Strap ”
