Warrant was at the Medina Entertainment Center Friday, one of the stops on their Dirty Thirty tour. They are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their first album – “Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich”. And after seeing their performance Friday night, they may play another 30 years.
Opening the night was Dare Force, who has been playing for over 30 years themselves. I started following them in the 80s and love seeing them every chance I get. Dare Force’s set consisted of their greatest hits including the Blue Oyster Cult cover Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll and Dare Force originals On My Way, Just Another Heartbreaker and the title song from their latest CD Callin’ Your Name. Dare Force always seems to have a fun time on stage and are fun to watch. Judging by the number of Dare Force t shirts in the crowd, a lot of their fans were there to see them. Friday night was another great performance by Dare Force, catch them if you can – you won’t be disappointed!
I hadn’t heard a lot about Hericane Alice, but they hit the stage like a hurricane, playing hard and fast. Hericane Alice was also formed in the 80s and released an album titled Tear the House Down in 1990. They also had a lot of fans in attendance, who sang along to their songs. Hericane Alice is another ageless band that is entertaining and a blast to watch perform. By the time Warrant took the stage, the crowd was rowdy and ready to rock. The band high fived people in the audience and referred to some women that were partying in their hotel and also at the concert celebrating a birthday. The lead singer even crawled under a set of speakers on the side of the stage to give the audience on that side a better view of his performance. The band played very tight and put on a great show. Another great night of music with bands that seem ageless – Long Live Rock n Roll!
