Tech N9ne: Independent Grind Tour Coming To Myth 11/30

Tech N9ne seems to be a huge fan of the Twin Cities and will be making a return appearance on Friday, November 30th to The Myth in Maplewood. It’s clear that Tech N9ne is on the grind that has made him the powerhouse he is.

That work-hard life has always served the Kansas City-based rapper well and has helped him become one of the most recognized figures in hip-hop. This fall, Tech N9ne will take his grind on the road for the Independent Grind Tour, which will hit cities from coast-to-coast to spread the gospel of Midwestern rap to a wider audience.

For the younger audience who may not have heard of this titan in hip-hop, here’s a little background.

Hip-hop was in the blood of Tech N9ne (b. Aaron Dontez Yates) from an early age. In 1991, he became a member of a Kansas City group called Black Mafia. He continued to perform in local groups until 1993 when he signed a solo deal with Perspective Records. He would continue to toil in the underground until he saw daylight with 2001’s Anghellic. From there, Tech N9ne’s LP would be mainstays on the charts (despite the singles not performing that well), and this year, his Planet LP has become an across the board smash.

The Independent Grind Tour will further bring prestige to the LP, with Tech N9ne performing his new singles, plus some of his classics.

Tickets are still available here.
