On Friday 3/16, the Hot Snakes will unleash their raucous sound upon the victims of the Twin Cities at the Turf Club. The show just so happens to fall on the release day of their new album “Jericho Siren”. Their new single “Six Wave Hold-Down” proves that the Snakes are as charismatic and venomous as ever!
“Jericho Siren” is the first album in 14 years from the Hot Snakes and is being released by Sub-Pop and in addition to the new album, they also reissued their entire back catalog of full lengths. Why are you still reading this? Go get them albums here
“Hot Snakes formed in 2000, after the release of their first record, Automatic Midnight. They were John Reis, Jason Kourkounis, Rick Froberg and Gar Wood. The band’s sound represented a return to the unrealized past of its members. This time their music would be direct, undraped and rock ‘n’ roll while still maintaining the dense and turbulent character of the members’ previous work (“hard” labor). In April or May of that year, Hot Snakes found their live sound and established themselves as primo, down-stroke warlords.”
Prepare yourself accordingly and slither down to the Turf Club with your dance shoes on and ear plugs in.
