Desert rockers Yawning Man are coming to the Turf Club on 9/27

It took 10 years after coming together as a band to release their first record but since then California’s Yawning Man has kept up a leisurely but steady pace of new music being released. Promoting their 2016 album “Historical Graffiti” the desert rockers are heading for the Twin Cities and will play the Turf Club on 9/27. Some tickets are still available HERE

YAWNING MAN was the sickest desert band of all time. Influenced by everything from the psychedelic to the folkloric, jazz, hard rock, roots punk, world music, the sound of this trio while hard to describe is visual and cinematic, heavy and melancholy, driving and daydreaming.

Closely aligned to both the stoner-rock scene which adores them (despite their total lack of ‘Sabbath-like riffery), and the SST family of artists (Black Flag, Minutemen, Meat Puppets) which they are linked to, their highly vocal fan base runs the gamut from stoners to avant-rockers to even Julian Cope.
