Jordana Warms up 7th St Entry

by Daniela Shella

This week, indie pop queen Jordana and opener Rachel Bobbit swung by Minneapolis to heat up the stage with their angelic voices. From the moment that Rachel hit the stage, the entire crowd was enthralled by her melodies.

The crowd was so attentive and quiet, as they listened to Rachel perform her new EP. Her hauntingly beautiful vocals and lyrics, she immediately drew the crowd in, creating an intimate atmosphere. Her set was a delicate blend of indie and folk influences.

Jordana’s show last night at 7th Street Entry was like a cozy indie dream that somehow packed a punch. She played her latest album, Lively Premonition, front to back.

Jordana is not only extremely talented, she’s also an incredible performer. Her performance captivated the audience at 7th St and was filled with flowery moments of comedy and even some silly impressions.

The venue, small enough to make you feel like you’re in on a secret, was buzzing with an almost electric anticipation as the crowd settled in. As soon as Jordana hit the stage, there was no denying she was in control of the room—her voice, her charm, effortlessly smooth but emotionally charged, immediately resonated with everyone there.

From playing the violin, to the electric guitar, to the tambourine, she filled the set with blips of musical iuendos of her specific style and musings. Jordana took the time to engage with the audience, introduce us all to her band members which she called her “goons” and made so many nods to feeling appreciative of being on this tour, and in chilly Minneapolis.

It felt like the night was a journey through her world of nostalgia and raw honesty and sillyness, with each song offering something familiar yet refreshing. Her stage presence was laid-back but confident, as if she was sharing a playlist with friends, but the depth of her music held everyone in a trance. The crowd sang along to every word like it was their own diary entry being sung back to them.

Special shoutout to Rachel Bobbitt, who opened the night with her own soul-soaked set, setting a perfect tone for what came next. All in all, Jordana’s set was a reminder of the power of indie music: simple yet profound, warm yet poignant. If you were there, you felt something real!
