Love is in the Air: Dancing With The Stars Live Takes Minneapolis on Valentine’s Day
Dancing With The Stars live found its way to Minneapolis through a heavy snowstorm on Valentine’s Day evening. The cast of pro dancers and celebrity stars from season 33 of the show made their way to Northrop Theater to put on a show-stopping performance.
The show started with a high-energy routine as a way to introduce the whole cast. Pro dancer Alan Bersten started out the routine strong with a bold solo where he then brought pro Rylee Arnold onto the stage. From there the rest of the pros were introduced: Brandon Armstrong, Britt Stewart, Daniella Karagach, Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, Pasha Pashkov, and Ezra Sosa. After all of the pros were brought on stage, the two guest stars, Chandler Kinney and Stephen Nedoroscik joined the cast. They then all performed a fun crowd-loving cha-cha to get the show started.
Pro dancer Emma Slater and the two celebrity stars, Olympic medalist Stephen Nedoroscik and actress Chandler Kinney, talked to the crowd to get everyone hyped for what’s to come. Season 33 partners Brandon and Chandler then took the stage with a duet they performed from the previous season and Stephen and Rylee who were partners on season 33 as well followed with a duet of their own.
After the two duets with the stars, they jumped right into back-to-back performances with the pros. These fast-paced, high-energy dances had the crowd on the edge of their seats with the emotional storytelling and captivating movement and costumes.
The show had a great variety of solos, duets group dances, and more. There were fun speaking breaks, an intermission, and confetti! All in all the show exceeded all expectations with its diverse lineup and striking talent. As a retired dancer, I had so much fun watching live professional ballroom dancing for the first time and I definitely wasn’t the only one who felt this way. Throughout the whole show, the crowd’s engagement was staggering. Seeing Minneapolis’ love for dance in the flesh is my favorite thing, especially on Valentine’s Day. Seeing how many people were celebrating love with dance was truly incredible!
