The Waverly and Howard Lake Fire Departments conducted a training exercise last Sunday. A condemned property with 1 house and 3 smaller cabins were used for firefighters to hone their skills. The buildings were burned in several stages so multiple groups could practice. It was impressive to watch how resilient a house fire can be and how quickly it can rekindle if left unchecked.
