LA based breakout sensations The Record Company returns to the The Twin Cities for the second time next Friday.  The Tickets for the First Avenue show are going fast.  Details and tickets available HERE.

The story of the gritty, bluesy trio is becoming well known.  Three Los Angeles musicians grinding out a modest living playing local small clubs back in 2016 decide to get together to jam.  Microphones are set up in a living room and they go to work.  To say they captured lightning in a bottle is not an overstatement.

Their debut album Give It Back To You  jump-started a meteoric rise in national attention.  The album put the band on the road and shined that first spotlight. Rolling Stone raving that the band “kick[s] up a raw, rootsy racket” and Entertainment Weekly calling the album a “soul scorcher.”

The follow up effort All Of This Life snagged a Grammy nomination.  That led to headlining slots at festivals across the country.  The band made the late night television circuit as word spread. This is powerful American Roots Rock at its finest.  Their sound has been compared with the boogie beat of John Lee Hooker and the swagger of The Rolling Stones.  So if you like your rock and roll strong and straight this is the show to catch.

The Record Company has appeared previously in our hometown.  As the band began its early rise they were booked into The 7th Street Entry.  Back in May of this year The Current and New Belgium Brewing put together one of the classic Micro Shows of the year.  A select few lucky winners got to catch a big band in the intimate confines of The Icehouse.  Ladies and gentlemen, that was one of the most sought after tickets of the year.  This time around 1500 of us will get the chance and the band will get to spread its wings in The Mainroom.

From microphones in the living room to Letterman.  From an Entry show to the Mainroom.  In two years.  This is a classic rock and roll rags to riches dream come true.

Opening for The Record Company is Independence, Mo based duo Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear.  Here’s another example of an overnight session.  In the span of a couple years these two went from local coffee shops to Bonaroo and Letterman.
