Come spend the final Friday night of 2018 with some of the hottest young bands in the Twin Cities when the Shackletons kick off New Year’s celebrating a few days early at First Avenue’s 7th St. Entry. I promise it will be the best $7 you can spend to see the Shackletons, Last Import, and Trevor Devine and the Immaculate Beings. Get your tickets HERE

The Shackletons

The Shackletons are a rock band out of the Twin Cities writing and playing songs rooted in the rich influence of the “Minnesota Sound.” The band consists of Colin Campbell (vocals/guitar), his older brother, Cameron (Bass), and younger brother Evan (Drums/miscellaneous screaming). Living a double life as both a knee-buckling indie rock band as well as a stomp-your-foot-through-the-floor blues band, The Shackletons have been generating buzz throughout the Twin Cities and Midwest. The brothers were tabbed as a Best New Band by numerous outlets including First Avenue, City Pages, Star-Tribune, The Current and Go96.3. Their song Minnesota Girls was voted #3 by Minnesota artists in this year’s Current listeners’ poll. Where they really shine is in their live sets which will be sure to include some covers from their favorite band, The Replacements. Look for their two excellent EP’s, The Horizon Lines and Second Attempt and now their latest single “Genevieve” which you can see them play at the Entry December 28th. For now, take a listen here:

Last Import
Last Import is an energetic, melodic, surf-punk trio based out of Minneapolis, MN. The band started off as a teen collaboration in 2014 at She Rock She Rock. Flash forward to 2017 to members also daylighting as full-time college students. Featuring Emily Bjorke (guitar, lead vocals), Grace Baldwin (bass, backing vocals), and Jane Halldorson (drums), the band released their first official EP, titled Songs for Adam, on January 25, 2018. As for influences? The girls each bring a diverse sound ranging from The Front Bottoms to Sleater-Kinney to the Beach Boys. Last Import has made waves at First Avenue, opening for Foster the People, the dearly-departed Triple Rock Social Club, and many a basement.

Trevor DeVine And The Immaculate Beings
Twin Cities, MN based Trevor DeVine And The Immaculate Beings formed at McNally Smith College of Music February, 2015. Vocalist and guitarist Trevor DeVine is joined by Derrick Holleman (guitar), Staurie Cain (keys), Griffin Roseland (bass), and Joe Harris (drums). Trevor DeVine And The Immaculate Beings have created a genuinely unique sound, pulling inspiration from acts like Alabama Shakes, Leon Bridges and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. DeVine, an Interlochen Arts Academy Alumni, has a wide range of vocal technique training and is an experienced songwriter. Creating an indie alternative sound with a funk twist, TD + IB are ready to perform and create a positive and loving live experience.
