If you are in the mood to see 2 great local bands in one night check out the Icehouse Friday evening. The Paper Days are celebrating their CD release and The Heavy Set will be opening for them. Tickets are still available HERE
The Paper Days are a five-piece, contemporary folk band from Minneapolis. The band’s sound features rich harmonies and prominently displays their unique instrumentation. The Paper Days met in 2013 as students at the University of Minnesota. Lead vocalists Madeline Ramirez and Scott Schmitz began writing songs and teamed up with Andy Lonning (accordion), Mikhail Schee (bass) and Erik Schee (drums) to form the full band. Their new release “Falling Easy” just came out to some very nice reviews. And one cannot go wrong with a band who was a beer named after them.
Starting the evening are The Heavy Set a rock band out of Minneapolis whose latest studio release “Everybody’s Got A Mountain” has been met with local and regional acclaim. Their song “River” made it in the top 97 local songs of 2015 of The Current.
Both are interesting bands, so come check them out. We will see you there!
