Following a very long tradition, on the Eve of Thanksgiving, The Ike Reilly Assassination will be playing a rock-filled concert within First Avenue’s Mainroom. With heavy influences of blues and folk, Ike Rielly has been powering out album after album, making sure to fill each and everyone with catchy tunes.

First Avenue writes: “Since his major-label debut, the groundbreaking Salesmen and Racists, Ike Reilly has been making punk/folk/blues-influenced rock ’n’ roll records that lean heavily on stories of outsiders with keen details and broad strokes that insinuate a crack in the American dream. Reilly’s band, The Assassination, has been called one of the best live bands in America, and the body of recorded work they’ve turned out has been poetic, rebellious, wholly original, and critically acclaimed.”

The first opener of the night is Red Daughters, a local band filled with 80’s inspired synth and hip-hop. “Red Daughters are serving up some ballsy countrified rock-and-roll true to the Minnesota soil that bred Dylan.” [Tripwire]

The Violet Nines will also be serving as an opener. This local band has been making a name for themselves since their formation in 2017. The group tackles the art of contemporary sound in powerful live performances and is sure to be bringing this energy to the stage of First Avenue.

The final opener of the night will be Southside Desire. Working out of Minneapolis, Southside Desire brings a wonderful taste of soul music to the stage. They incorporate strong harmonization and a powerful wall-of-sound to deliver their strong performance.
