Opening Friday night’s BNLX fest was Minneapolis teenage band Stereo Confession. The band’s 2nd album “No Coast” was released in the October 2014 and was the product of summer break. Even though band members just recently turned 18, Stereo Confession has been around for almost 4 years. Their credits include playing the Basilica Block Party, getting a decent amount of airplay on The Current and selling out 7th Street Entry.
They describe their style as ” surf rock jamz” but this ain’t your daddy’s surf rock. While you get your share of whooohoos (Video Games) and the driving guitar riffs the music feels fresher and edgier. The fact that they had 2 replacement players as some band members were tied up at another gig, did not slow them down. This is definitely a band to watch.
