Janae Nierah Wherry (born April 15, 1998), better known professionally as Sexyy Red, is an American rapper and singer. In 2018, she garnered online attention, after reworking Vanessa Carlton’s“A Thousand Miles” on her track “Ah Thousand Jugs”. In 2021, she released her debut mixtape, Ghetto Superstar. In 2022, she collaborated with Summer Walker on the controversial music video, “Sense Dat God Gave You“.
In January 2023, she rose to prominence with her breakthrough single, “Pound Town”, (with Tay Keith), which later went viral on social media because of its sexuality. This spawned a remix with titled, “Pound Town 2” and became her first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. In June, she released her second mixtape, Hood Hottest Princess.
