Rogue Wave To Celebrate 10 Years of ‘Asleep at Heaven’s Gate’ at Turf Club on March 21st

So many things have changed in the past ten years but one thing that hasn’t is the greatness that is Rogue Wave’s ‘Asleep At Heaven’s Gate’. If you’re like me and still listen to this album as much as you did when it came out a decade ago, then you’ll be just as excited as I am to know they will be playing the album in it’s entirety (plus many more tracks) on Wednesday, March 21st at The Turf Club in Saint Paul. This show will be the first night of their tour.

Produced by Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Sleater Kinney, Elvis Costello) with Zach Rogue, Asleep At Heaven’s Gate stands as Rogue Wave’s definitive statement and a benchmark for a band at its creative height. SPIN hailed the record as “a make-or-break manifesto that often trumps indie-rock’s big-leaguers,” while Billboard termed it the band’s “…most ambitious release… notable for its beefed-up instrumentation and an overall darker sound than its predecessors.” Although the focus of the show will be on their 2007 release, I’m sure the band won’t neglect their six other releases. Rogue Wave’s indie sound will be the perfect soundtrack to your hump day.

Dear Boy will be opening the show. Bitter-sweet alternative rock with roots in both post-punk and 90‘s British guitar pop– I mean, how can you say no?

Tickets are still available here.
