The bass was booming at the Amsterdam Bar and Hall in St. Paul when rapper, songwriter and producer
redveil came strong Saturday night. The 19 year old just dropped his latest ep playing w/ fire days ago,
and was supported by femdot. And D’mari Harris at this sold out show.

Starting off the show with a ton of energy was D’mari Harris. D’mari is an old comrade of redveil, they shared the stage on their
very first live performance in Baltimore in 2021. Harris kept the energy level up to rafters. D’mari’s set
was kinda old school R&B mixed with new school R&B wrapped in underground rap. Harris had natural banter with the crowd, who
seemed very familiar with his music. He was so connected, he even took a couple of selfies using audience members phones.

Next up was Illinois native femdot. This young mans high level of intelligence came across very clearly. He has an uncanny ability to articulate really dark and disturbing issues with the authenticity of someone who has direct experience. This view that every issue isn’t linear, and has to be closely examined from all angles, may originate from Fem’s scientific background. He really connected with the crowd, as lyrics are relatable, not preachy.    And while some of the subject matter may be uncomfortable, his delivery and stage presence was anything but. Fem delivered a very
positive and powerful set to get the evening going.

Headliner redveil came on right around 9 to ear-popping roars. The crowd was keyed up and ready. Energy pulsed from the stage like the bass and drums from the house speakers as he prowled from stage left to stage right. Lyrics flowed like thick hot magma from an erupting volcano.                      He has a unique lyrical discharge, heavy with prose that flows at breakneck speed. Brimming with confidence, upbeat with an almost constant smile on his face, he radiated an infectious positivity. It’s hard to believe this man is only 19 years old, he has the stage command of a seasoned veteran. With his crew to back him, reveil relentlessly pummeled the audience with invigorating beats. The crowd response was electric, and at one point redveil sang Happy Birthday to one of the energized audience.

redveil will be someone to keep your eye on, with a ton of talent he will surely be making waves in the future.
