If you are looking to spend Sunday evening with good food, great music and still get to bed at a reasonable hour, the Icehouse has just the thing for you: Kathy Vernon and Tim Houlihan will play on 3/13 starting at 7 PM. Tickets are available HERE
Tim Houlihan will be releasing his CD “Another Orion”. He is an Americana singer songwriter whose songs bloom with hooky enthusiasm, strong grooves and sophisticated playing. Tim grew up near St. Louis and his performances have traversed the United States and Europe from living rooms to large halls where he draws in listeners with intimate and warm anecdotes. Another Orion is Tim’s 6th self-produced record and his 2nd with world-class collaborators. Tim currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His influences are Jackson Browne, Stephen Stills, James Taylor, Shawn Colvin, Lake Street Dive and Dawes.
After re-launching herself as a singer songwriter with a solo record in 2012 Katy Vernon realized she had been lucky enough to emerge from that process with a band. She also found a renewed enthusiasm for writing new material and performing live. Tracks include, ‘Play’ a celebration of the joy of performing, ‘23’ a self-described anthem for female musicians over a certain age, ‘Lily’ and ‘Heart Is In Your Hands’ reflecting on motherhood and the first single ‘Pearl’ which is a watershed songwriting moment for Katy as she leaves behind the grief and sadness of her earlier work to embrace the here and now.
