PREVIEW: The LACS w/Moonshine Bandits and The Plott Hounds at The Cabooze on March 4th

I decided to stray from my normal musical preference in shows that I cover and am heading up to The Cabooze to check out The LACS on March 4th, 2016.  As described on the event page, “The LACS—short for Loud Ass Crackers—have a proven formula for success. Mix 65 percent country music storytelling with 20 percent hip-hop attitude, add in 15 percent rock ‘n’ roll plus 100 percent hard work and you have a multi-format duo that defies definition and oozes opportunity.”  With a description like that, I expect it will be an interesting night!

Joining them will be the Moonshine Bandits.  Reading the bio on their Facebook page, it seems they will be the perfect addition to this show.  To quote, “‘Moonshine Bandits’ sound is a hybrid of the music they listened growing up. “We grew up on West Coast hip/hop and West Coast rap, but we also got into country,” says Tex. “The first country song I heard was ‘Folsom Prison Blues’ by Johnny Cash. Now, we do a lot of things in our live show like our own version of Garth Brooks’ ‘Friends in Low Places’ with the Crowd singing along with us and a hiphop driven beat behind it. Our content has always been about where we’re from and what we do. There were a lot of outdoor parties in high school and just a lot of good-time type music.”

Finally, The Plott Hounds will also be playing at this show.  Again, taking a section from their Facebook page, “Formed in April of 2014 with an angst to revive the sounds and stories of country music with a rock and roll backbone…Heavily inspired by 70’s rockers of old – The Allman Brothers Band & Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Plott Hounds aim to put their own spin the classic southern rock sound. One founded heavily on talented lead players, powerful lyrics and heaps of raw energy. It is music from the heartland of America, Part Southern, Part Mid-West.”

I am looking forward to seeing some new bands, new music, and new atmosphere!  Check out the links below to learn more!
