When it comes to Celtic Punk one cannot get any better than the Dropkick Murphys. In the 20 years since their inception the band has become the standard for the genre. That is a pretty good record for a band that was started on a bet. Their anniversary tour takes them across the US with a 4 date finish in Boston, MA perfectly timed for St. Patrick’s day.
The Twin Cities will get a chance to see them next week at the Myth in Maplewood. They are a great live band and we can pretty much guarantee a great time. Tickets are still available HERE
The band is deeply rooted in the Irish community. They launched The Claddagh Fund in 2009, a charity focusing on children’s and veterans’ organizations, as well as drug and alcohol recovery programs. The band’s charity has raised $2.5 million to date, including $400,000 for families and victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. The group also continues to support workers’ rights and union causes.
