Saturday night Pop Rocks appeared at the Varsity Theater in a Winter Beach Bash. The show included frequent costume changes and a ton of fun. The audience danced and sang along and obviously enjoyed the show. They played 2 sets with an intermission that included music from a DJ and a dance contest. The band played top 40, pop songs, rap, western all in costume and did a great job impersonating the artists.
The Dance Contest consisted of 4 brave souls, with the prize being free tickets to future shows. The top 2 were selected by audience applause and they had a dance off. The male contestant got the highest applause in the dance off, but free tickets were awarded to both of the finalists. The second set trended more towards older songs including Ozzie’s “Crazy Train”, House of Pain’s “Jump Around”, Run DMC’s “It’s Tricky” and “Walk This Way”, along with Nicki Minaj and a full body suit with appropriate embellishments. I loved Pop Rocks and thought it was a fun night. They put on a great show, played some great tunes and it seemed the audience really enjoyed it as well.Related Articles
