Perfect Liars Release Chemical Solution EP at The Cabooze

As the week wrapped up and I prepared to head into the weekend, Friday night always seems to serve up an interesting mix of music choices. With Target Field heading up a big performance, several venues hosted a sweet selection of prime local music. I decided to make my way to The Cabooze to catch the Perfect Liars EP release performance.

I walked in just in time to catch the set by The Filthy Famous. This two man crew kicked off their set and never gave up. With a nice complement of great lyrics and smoking guitar, these guys completely rocked it. Rich Salsbury (Perfect Liars) joined the band on stage with monster guitar work. In all, the Filthy Famous had an immediate ear catching way about them and got the crowd moving.

After a short stage change break, the Perfect Liars hit the stage. With new members Kace Ayres (guitar/backing vocals) and Daniel Sosa (bass), I was curious how everything would come together. The bands new EP ‘Chemical Solution’ draws from songs written by founding member and front man Rich Salsbury (guitar/vocals). As the band started their set, I was immediately impressed and the response from the crowd was pleasing. Listening to Rich’s vocals and guitar playing, it was hard not to do a double-take and think the late Kurt Cobain was on stage. The bands set consisted of hand-picked rock covers along with all the songs off the EP. With the performance being the first live show under the new line-up, the band nailed song after song and set a great mark for future performances.

The new EP ‘Chemical Solution’ from Perfect Liars is available now electronically through the normal channels. Though it is a three song EP, I would suspect that additional releases will be coming in the near future.
