Golden Smog hits the Mainroom for two nights, April 2-3.  Tickets for the Saturday April 2 show are currently Sold Out.  Some tickets still remain for the Sunday show on the 3rd.  Tickets and details can be found HERE.

One of the hallmarks of the 1980s music scene in the Twin Cities was collaboration.  The scene was hot.  Bands were breaking big and styles covered the waterfront.  Yet, this is still a small town.  Everybody knows everybody.  Most bands viewed each other as friends as opposed to competition.

Enter Golden Smog.  Was it initially a whim?  A one off?  Hard to say.  But easy to say what was going to happen when the likes of Gary Louris and Marc Perlman (Jayhawks), Kraig Jarrett Johnson (Run Westy Run), Chris Murphy (Soul Asylum) and Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) decided to share notes.

This was, by any definition, the first Minnesota supergroup.  Local fans loved the occasional forays into the studio.  They loved the rare band live shows even more.  Those with tickets in hand are stoked.  For those who still want a shot to get in, you better move quick!

Saturday’s show has local stalwarts Kiss The Tiger with Tina and The B-Sides in support.  Sunday the 3rd opens with Congolese raised imloe.
