Lovett is one of those characters who seems to transcend genres. In early days he was often lumped into the Alt Country milieu. But calling Lovett another country singer is a bit like calling Mr. Ed just another horse.
He exploded onto the scene in 1986 and quickly established himself as one of America’s most unique singer/songwriters. Along the way he’s garnered 4 Grammy Awards. He is also the recipient of the American Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award. His 30 year career features 14 critically acclaimed albums. Who else could be named as Texas’ state musician? No mean feat, that one.
