It seems like it wasn’t too long ago that I started seeing media posts about The Plott Hounds and their driving style of Southern Rock / Americana music. Now with an EP and full length album ‘Living Free’ under their belt, the bands popularity has grown significantly. The recognition has definitely extended well beyond the local music scene in Minneapolis with the band covering main stages at some of the biggest summer festival concerts and event taking the band on road trips as far South as Georgia.

On The Plott Hounds return to the Twin Cities, I caught up with them at the downtown local Lee’s Liquor Lounge as they closed out the evening with a bang. Those in attendance were treated to all the favorites hits. With the band growing a into their ever-expanding skin, some of the early hits have been re-born with very satisfying results. Grab the album ‘Living Free’ and be sure to see them live.

About The Plott Hounds …

Formed in April of 2014 with an angst to revive the sounds and stories of country music with a rock and roll backbone…Heavily inspired by 70’s rockers of old – The Allman Brothers Band & Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Plott Hounds aim to put their own spin the classic southern rock sound.  One founded heavily on talented lead players, powerful lyrics and heaps of raw energy.  It is music from the heartland of America, Part Southern, Part Mid-West. We are best served live, with a cool beverage in hand. Our debut record – “Living Free” is available now, snag it and join us in the sing  along coming to a city near you.
