Although the pandemic stopped a lot of things, Yam Haus is one thing that it just couldn’t touch. The young and local band has been making waves over the past few years so I am super stoked to get the chance to see them play on the Palace Theatre stage on Friday, December 17th!

Amassing over 3.3 million streams with their pop-inspired album, Stargazer, Yam Haus’ dance-worthy sound evokes the names of WALK THE MOON, Maroon 5, and Ed Sheeran alike. Closing out 2019 with a sold out show at the iconic venue, First Avenue, and releasing three new singles, including “The Thrill”, the Minneapolis-based pop band continues to capture the Midwest’s attention with their high energy show, clean synth-pop sound, and engaging personalities.

Members Lars Pruitt (lead vocal), Jake Felstow (drums), Zach Beinlich (bass), and Seth Blum (guitar) officially formed Yam Haus in 2017 and launched their first single, “West Coast”, in April 2018 which garnered over 100,000 streams within the first week of its release.

Selling out shows across the midwest due to a quickly growing fan-base, the quartet has played alongside national acts Kacey Musgraves, Tori Kelly, Adam Lambert, Andy Grammer, AWOLNATION, American Authors, Semisonic, lovelytheband, and Johnnyswim. Yam Haus launches in to the summer season with their new EP, The Band Is Gonna Make It, featuring “The Thrill”, “Simplicity”, and their latest track, “Adriana”.

DNM will be joining in on the fun by opening up for Yam Haus. After a few years of being friends and creating their own respective projects, DeCarlo Jackson (of Hippo Campus), Nathnaél Fikru (Naél) and Moise Igeno (Moise), formed the band “DNM” (pronounced like denim) in Minneapolis, MN. The trio started playing with the idea of creating a band during one of their earliest jam sessions where the three would spend time riffing and coming up with fresh sounds with no intent to truly become a band. After accumulating a handful of voice memos and rough demos, the foundation of DNM was “stitched”.

And make sure to get there on time to catch Keep For Cheap! Keep for Cheap is a folk/indie/prairie-rock band based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, characterized by harmonious vocals and twangy, flower-powery instrumentals. The group is comprised of five spirited and ambitious musicians: Autumn Vagle (she/her), Kate Malanaphy (she/they), Robert Northrup (he/him), Lydia Williams (she/they), and Ted Tiedemann (they/he). Although they are most passionate about making meaningful music that audiences can connect with, they also value authenticity, expression, acceptance, and most importantly having fun!

Tickets are still available HERE but I’ll be surprised if they last long so move fast!
