Guitarist and singer Jonny Lang will bring his blues-rock gospel sound to the Minnesota Zoo on July 3rd. Lang is known for his early career success, starting when he was only 14 years old, and when he was 15 received his first platinum record. He has toured with bands like the Rolling Stones, Buddy Guy, Aerosmith, B.B. King, Blues Travelers, Jeff Beck, Sting, and the Experience Hendrix Tour. He continues to move audiences with his energy. Lang will be performing as part of the 2019 Crossroads Guitar Festival (founded by Eric Clapton) in Dallas, TX in September.

Lang shares his influencers from his recent album Signs, “A lot of my earlier influences have been coming to the surface, like Robert Johnson, and Howlin’ Wolf,” he reports. “I have been appreciating how raw and unrefined that stuff is. I had an itch to emulate some of that and I think it shows in the songs. Still, I let the writing be what it was and that was sometimes not necessarily the blues.”

There are a few tickets left for this show at the Minnesota Zoo, and can be purchased here.

Jonny Lang will be joined with a special guest Shannon Curfman. Lang and Curfman are both guitarists originally from Fargo, North Dakota. It would be expected for all MN blues fans attend and witness this epic show.
