Jon Pardi’s Lucky Tonight Tour with Midland and Runaway June played a sold out Myth Live on Friday. Traditional country singer Jon Pardi, bred in the West Coast honky tonks. It might be considered contemporary cool to inject country songs with programmed drums, rap phrasing and poppy melodies. But Pardi isn’t worried about what’s trendy. He’s more concerned with making country music that will last, and California Sunrise successfully hits that target. It’s stocked with classic Nashville melody, blue-collar lyrical themes and authentic country instrumentation – real drums, loud-and-proud fiddles and tangy steel guitar. The album’s 12 songs draw a direct link to such forbearers as Dwight Yoakam, George Strait and Marty Stuart, and it’s intentional.

Runaway June is an American country music group consisting of Naomi Cooke vocals, Hannah Mulholland harmony and mandolin , and Jennifer Wayne high harmony & rhythm guitar.  Before the group’s formation, Wayne was a member of Stealing Angels band. Jennifer Wayne, a granddaughter of John Wayne, grew up in southern California, and Hannah Mulholland grew up in Los Angeles, California, while Naomi Cooke is from Nashville, Tennessee. Jennifer Wayne co-wrote Eric Paslay’s top 20 hit “She Don’t Love You”. The three met in Nashville and wrote their debut single “Lipstick” in late 2016. The trio just released their second single “Wild West” in early 2017

Runaway June opened the concert for Jon Pardi. The trio took the stage like seasoned pros. The harmonies of the trio were simply amazing. Runaway June played a five song set list including songs “Train Whistle”,”Wild West”,”Lipstick” and a Dwight Yoakam cover “Fast as You”. The trio will certainly be a up and coming band to watch for. I loved their cute smiles and energy onstage was outstanding.

Midland is an American country music group consisting of Mark Wystrach (lead vocals), Cameron Duddy (bass guitar, background vocals), and Jess Carson (lead guitar, background vocals). Their debut single, “Drinkin’ Problem“, reached the top 5 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The album’s second single, “Make a Little” released to country radio mid 2017. Midland has been touring the U.S. 2017 with Tim Mcgraw & Faith Hill promoting their album “On The Rocks”.

Midland opened their amazing forty minute set with song “Check Casin’ Country”. The fans loved the old school country sound. Midland played a eleven song set list including songs “This old Heart”,”Burn Out”,”This Old Heart” and “Make a Little”. They played a Tom Petty cover of “American Girl” and a Alabama cover of “Dixieland Delight”. Midland ended their set with song “Drinkin’ Problem”. Midlands vocals and stage presence are fantastic. I’m looking forward to their second album.

The fans were ready for the ACM winner of “New Male Vocalist of the Year 2017” Jon Pardi. Jon and his band came out on stage playing song “Paycheck”. The crowd was loving the true country sound. Jon played a killer nineteen song set. The songs included “California Sunrise”,”Head Over Boots”,”Up All Night”,”Night Shift”. Jon closed his set with chart topper “Dirt On My Boots”. Jon Pardi live is a show everyone should see. I really enjoyed seeing the violin and electric guitar blend so nicely. WOW what a great concert. I can’t wait to see Jon again in 2018.
