Jesca Hoop Returns To The Cedar On 11/15/19

Jesca Hoop makes a return visit to The Cedar Cultural Center on November 15th in support of her recently released album, Stonechild. Opening the evening of music will be the impressive Chloe Foy. This will be a seated show at the Cedar with general admission so plan your night accordingly to claim a chair. Doors are at 7:00PM with music starting at 8:00PM for this all ages show. Returning in support of her a hugely acclaimed fifth album, ‘Stonechild’, the California-born, UK-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Jesca Hoop remains a uniquely intriguing, idiosyncratic and compelling performer. With her roots in folk and Americana , Hoop continually pushes at the boundaries of what is possible within those traditions, creating songs that twist and turn, constantly surprising, and delightful and disturbing in equal measures.

She’s what you’d call a musician’s musician. She has written songs with Sam Beam (Iron and Wine), collaborated with Lucius and This is the Kit on Stonechild, and worked with luminaries including Peter Gabriel. And it was a phone call from UK band Elbow’s Guy Garvey that saw her move to the UK.  Having worked on Stonechild with producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, This is the Kit, Aldous Harding),  it’s easy to see how she’s earned so many famous fans – her beautiful songs are intricately detailed, acoustic-led pieces that teem with ideas.

With her strikingly beautiful voice and emotionally direct songwriting, Chloe has captured the attention of rapidly growing UK and US audiences. With the release of her singles ‘Asylum’, ‘Flaws’, ‘Oh You Are Not Well’ and ‘In The Middle Of The Night’, she has accumulated over 10 million plays on Spotify, as well as earning the praise and airtime of the likes of NPR Radio’s Bob Boilen and the BBC’s Steve Lamacq. She has just been named a 2019 BBC Introducing “One To Watch” by Radio 3’s Late Junction. 2018 saw her perform at SXSW as well as touring in support of the mercurially talented Jesca Hoop (as well as singing backing vocals in Jesca’s band). She has just completed a successful headline UK tour and this summer she played Fempop festival in Barcelona, Cambridge Folk Festival and Greenman. Chloe is supported by the PRS Momentum Fund.
