Japanese Breakfast just keeps reaching new heights. Their 2021 album Jubilee took the band around the world. From the Grammys (they were ROBBED) to SNL, to stages worldwide. The band is at its best yet.
Meanwhile, singer Michelle Zauner’s 2021 memoir Crying in H-Mart became a best-seller. It incidentally also broke my heart into 1,000 pieces and put it back together again.
Everyone is asking “what’s next for Zauner as an author?” Of course, I’d like to know that too. However, I am more than grateful that they have decided to extend their tour and come back to us on another pass through town.
Last fall, their performance at First Avenue was truly one of the most beautiful and joyful shows I have seen in years. I left feeling so happy and wanted to see the show again and again.
When I saw that they would be back at First Avenue in July, I bought tickets immediately. I didn’t even need to see that The Linda Lindas will be supporting – which should be enough to tip you over to the “I’m definitely going” side if you were on the fence already.
