The Red Hot Chili Peppers have recently embarked on their ‘Getaway Tour’ that is traversing its way through North American. Best of all, Minneapolis’ Target Center will host their stop in the Twin Cities on January 21st.

The tour follows a string of summer festival headlining gigs in 2016, all in support of their latest record, The Getaway. The 24-date outing kicked off on Jan. 5 in San Antonio and is currently slated to wrap up on March 18 in Vancouver. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will open all the dates, while multi-instrumentalist and original drummer for the RHCP Jack Irons will join the tour throughout the month of January.

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dark Necessities” — the lead single from the band’s 10th studio album, The Getaway — is the group’s 13th No. 1 on the Alternative Songs chart. The track soared to number 1 on the Aug. 13-dated chart according to Nielsen Music. “Dark Necessities” is the bands first chart-topper since “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” which spent four weeks at No. 1 in 2011.

But while the band’s 13th No. 1 extends a chart record — the rockers have the most No. 1’s in Alternative Songs history, knocking out Linkin Park’s 11 No. 1’s. The rise of “Dark Necessities” marks an achievement that only three other songs have been able to accomplish according to Billboard chart history. “Dark Necessities” first topped Adult Alternative Songs for two weeks beginning June 18, followed by a three-week reign on Mainstream Rock Songs starting July 23.

You will not want to miss out on this much anticipated appearance. Limited tickets are still available at AXS.com. Don’t delay.
