In celebration of 50 years together, Hot Tuna will be coming to the Fitzgerald with a special acoustic performance.

Opening for the band will be Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams, a married couple dubbed the first couple of Americana. Multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell is best known for touring with Bob Dylan for many years and as his work as a studio artist. His wife, Teresa Williams has been working as a singer-guitarist for most of her life.

Hot Tuna was formed in 1969 by former Jefferson Airplane members Joma Kaukonen and Jack Casady. The band has been described as an everchanging collaboration with members coming and going, offering their own special touch to the sound.  The current lineup also includes Barry Mitterhoff on the mandolin and Justin Guip on drums.

“The name Hot Tuna invokes as many different moods and reactions as there are Hot Tuna fans — millions of them. To some, Hot Tuna is a reminder of some wild and happy times. To others, that name will forever be linked to their own discovery of the power and depth of American blues and roots music. To newer fans, Hot Tuna is a tight, masterful duo that is on the cutting edge of great music.” – Taken from Hot Tuna’s website.
