Gully Boys Taking Over The Entry 12/15 As Part Of Residency

Gully Boys have a residency going on at The 7th Street Entry on Sunday nights through December. Although I wish I could go to every single show, I just can’t but will be able to catch their show on Sunday, December 15th and I am so excited about it.

Born from passion, Kathy, Nadirah and Natalie make up the Minneapolis 3-piece that Gully Boys is today. Gully Boys’ melodic tunes and raw lyrics make it hard to believe that in 2016, none of them knew how to play their instruments. Drawing inspiration from a multitude of musical back grounds, Gully Boys transcends genre. Through hard work, diligent practice, and fresh enthusiasm, Gully Boys released their first LP, Not So Brave, on August 12, 2018 and later topped City Pages’ annual Picked To Click poll in November.

Marijuana Deathsquads is a personal favorite of mine and will be opening up for Gully Boys. Marijuana Deathsquads is the ever-evolving, experimental project lead by Ryan Olson, (producer/writer of POLIÇA and GAYNGS), Isaac Gale, and Stefon Alexander (P.O.S). With multiple drummers, a slew of electronic instruments, and highly effected vocals, their live shows are a violent onslaught of improvised yet tightly woven, jagged, intricate experimental sound.

Purple Orange Beach (aka P.O.S Noise Dance) will get this started. Doomtree co-founder, punk philosopher and lyrical bomb-thrower Stefon Alexander, aka P.O.S, makes tight, declamatory music that builds on the Minneapolis-bred rapper and producer’s penchant for grinding beats and radical lyrics. Known for welding hip-hop with guitar squalls, screamed vocals, and futuristic beats fit for a Berlin nightclub, P.O.S steps out with a unique beats set.
